Read Freely Alabama
Read Freely Alabama supports, connects and mobilizes parent and community member-led initiatives fighting against censorship and book bans. We support rights of individuals and families to access books they see themselves reflected in and to read stories about experiences and identities very different than their own. Individual parents have the right to monitor and regulate their own child's access to materials, but do not exercise those rights over anyone else's child. We trust librarians to partner with parents to ensure developmental and age-appropriate access to information and books.
